We are seeking a Data and Technology Counsel to join our fast-growing team. You will play a critical role in navigating privacy, data protection, and security challenges as we scale to become Thailand’s No.1 food platform.
What you’ll do:
Commercial Contracting (Privacy, AI, and Technology)
- Draft, review, and negotiate privacy-related agreements, including data processing agreements (DPAs), cross-border data transfer terms, and data-sharing arrangements.
- Draft, review, and negotiate technology-related contracts such as SaaS agreements, platform service agreements, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Review and negotiate AI-related contracts, including those involving data use, model training, and AI-as-a-service platforms.
- Evaluate AI product terms and conditions to ensure alignment with privacy, intellectual property, and platform policies.
- Conduct legal reviews of digital platform terms, such as Apple App Store and Google Play Store requirements, to ensure product compliance.
- Support internal teams in contract strategy, negotiation, and risk assessment related to privacy, data, and technology initiatives.
Regulatory (Privacy and Technology)
- Provide legal consultation on privacy and personal data protection compliance, including local and foreign data protection laws.
- Perform privacy impact assessments and participate in service design reviews to ensure privacy-by-design.
- Research and monitor international legal developments related to privacy, AI, and digital services, and communicate relevant updates to internal stakeholders.
- Assist on regulatory matters affecting digital platforms, including e-commerce laws, intermediary liability, consumer protection, and digital economy laws (as relevant).
Policy and Awareness (Data Protection and Governance)
- Assist in the development and maintenance of internal data protection and governance policies.
- Support employee compliance with internal data protection and governance requirements.
- Conduct internal training and awareness initiatives related to privacy, AI, and data protection.
What you’ll need:
- An Attorney licensed in Thailand with 5+ years of legal practice in law firms, government agencies, and/or in-house;
- Proven track record in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, especially in technology-related areas (e.g., SaaS, platform services, data sharing).
- Good understanding of key legal considerations in privacy, data protection, and digital services, with a willingness to deepen knowledge where needed.
- Business-minded and pragmatic, able to balance legal risk with commercial and product realities.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with product, tech, operations, and business teams.
- Strong communication skills in both Thai and English, with the ability to explain legal issues clearly to non-lawyers.
- Self-driven and intellectually curious, with a proactive approach to learning new areas such as AI regulation, global privacy laws, or platform terms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and international privacy frameworks (e.g., GDPR, APEC CBPR).
- Exposure to AI-related legal issues, platform compliance (e.g., app stores), or digital platform regulation.
- Background working with or in tech companies, especially in platform, e-commerce, or mobile services.
- Knowledge of related legal areas such as intellectual property, licensing, competition law, employment, or litigation would be a plus.
- Comfort with interpreting technical concepts such as encryption, APIs, or data flows (no engineering required — just legal understanding).
- Experience working in cross-border or multicultural environments.
